Father - Husband - Friend - Artist?
I have a gorgeous wife (Kelly), two crazy kids (Sam and Sarah), and live in Prince George, British Columbia. I have lived here most of my life and love everything the city has to offer. I am fortunate to be surrounded by lakes, rivers, forests, mountains, and four seasons in the beautiful western province of Canada.
I have always been interested in drawing, painting and all types of art. It's not the easiest way to make a living but that hasn't seemed to stop my enthusiasm.
Since the birth of my first child, Sam, in 2012, I have been drawn to children's books, specifically their illustrations. I read picture books to my kids every night and often Sam has to remind me to keep reading as I have stopped to admire the pictures. My favourite illustrators are Oliver Jeffers, Alex Latimer, Chris Haughton, Mike Lowery, Daniel Salmieri, and David Roberts.
I enjoy creating my illustrations with pencil and paper but I find colouring with a traditional medium tedious, so lately, I have transitioned to digital art. I create most of my illustrations, start to finish, on the iPad.
